Shipping & Returns

We ship Mon-Thursday and some Fridays. Please know USPS and UPS often say "delivered" but it takes an additional day or two for the package to actually BE delivered --yes, it's annoying! We have to deal with this every single day, this is not in our control.

On US Federal Holidays no mail moves - you *may* see a label print, but it will leave the next mailing day.

Please keep shipping insurance (Package Protection) in your cart. If you take it out, you will have to file your own claim with USPS or UPS.

Did you know we will send a return label to you for returning items? When people "refuse" a delivery, it costs us triple the original postage to claim the parcel back. PLEASE DO NOT do this! EMAIL US or call us so we can handle it. Our contact page is here.

PRE ORDERS ship as stated in the listing -- usually these take some time to arrive. IF YOU COMBINE in stock items with a preorder they will ship TOGETHER at one time.  If you file a chargeback on a preorder I will ban you from my website for the rest of time. I've only had to do this once, but it is totally rediculous to make up a story about arrival times when it is NOT in my control. WE DO NOT HOLD BACK items- there is NO ROOM or time to do this. I've stayed until midnight shipping preorders because they arrive at 5pm, just to get them out the door. BE COOL or be banned for life.

We do NOT cover import fees or duties if shipping out of the USA. Tariffs/duties have NOTHING to do with our company, we have no control over them. 

Tracking info is ALWAYS sent by email as soon as the label is printed. Check your junk or promotions folders; it could have landed in one of them. 

Free shipping is offered for domestic customers, on orders over $125. This is a ONE TIME ORDER offer.

Returns are accepted for damaged items and we will send you a return label. Returns for any other reason are accepted within 14 days (30 days for international) at YOUR return shipping expense, and will be processed with a restocking fee of 10% to cover Shopify cc fees.

Sew your own Ruth Clutch, a snap-open, carpet-bag-frame-style clutch with a simple design and a quick construction method. This PDF sewing pattern uses just one pattern piece and includes written instructions plus a video tutorial to guide you through the project.

About the Ruth Clutch

Choose cork, bonded nylon, canvas, vinyl, or faux leather to give your clutch its own look. The beginner-friendly construction uses Natalie’s classic time-saving method, with double-sided fusible web to help bring the layers together.

Note: The tiles are put together 3 pages across. They are numbered; just match the diamonds. I had to put flowers over my tile photo because of rampant copying going on, especially with agentic learning now. Thank you for understanding.

Finished Size: 12" W x 6" H x 4" D small  👉  (An oversized version is coming soon and it's super fun! I will add it to these files, so my shop can automatically email you with the larger size option when it is complete.)

Materials Needed

  • Exterior: Sew Hungry Hippie vinyl, 18" × 22" (1 roll makes 2 clutches), or your preferred compatible material
  • Lining: Quilting cotton or your material of choice, 18" × 22" for non-directional fabric; directional fabric requires more
  • Frame: One 8" carpet bag frame
  • Binding: Two pieces of extra-wide double-fold bias binding, each 8–10" long
  • Fusible web: Steam-A-Seam 2, two 12" × 17" pieces or one 22" × 22" piece, or your preferred double-sided fusible web
